WRENS FALL FLY-IN 2011
EAA
172, Augusta, Georgia, has invited the Carolina-Georgia Rotors
& Wings Club to participate in its Fall Fly-in at the Wrens,
Georgia, airport. It will take the place of former ROC fly-ins. Some
might call it ROC 2011 if they wish but it is actually the EAA 172 Fall
Fly-in.
This
would take the place of the Rotors Over Carolina that the club has had
in the past. There will be many other types of aircraft at the fly-in
and this gives a chance for our club to show off a different type of
aircraft, rotorcraft, mainly gyroplanes.
For
our club members who want power and water, there are only a few (6-7)
power lines on the field. Because of the lack of manpower and money the
Fall Fly-in has had to downsize. Anyone who wants water will have to
both help with hoses and also carefully put away hoses before they
leave.
The charge for the Wrens
electricity/water on a first-come first-served basis is $15 for the
event. Bring a generator if you have one since the power is
limited.
Plain primitive (no extras) camping will be $10.
Vendors (mainly CFIs) will have a $50 fee.
The pilot registration donation to PRA 13 is $20 if you have a gyro or plan on piloting, not just riding, someone else's gyro.
Note
that we are all invited to a good ol' Southern Breakfast at the EAA 172
Pea Patch Aerodrome 12 miles away at 9:00 AM on October 8th.
Many more details about the Fall Fly-in (aka ROC 2011):
Note
that the Wrens Fall Fly-in is the successor to the Aiken ROC which was
a successor to the Barnwell Rotorcraft fly-in which was a successor to
the Mountain City fly-in.
